An occupational therapist addresses tasks that are
related functional skills such as feeding, dressing, bathing,
self-care and other daily living skills. A careful analysis of the
child's ability to use information from his sensory and motor
systems is completed. Intervention may then be directed towards
maximizing the child's functional independence by focusing on areas
such as; providing the appropriate sensory input, using adaptive
equipment or techniques and making a splint or brace to support a
muscle group.
