The focus of a pediatric physical therapist is to
maximize a child's functional independence in their environment. For
some children this means working on developing typical skills such
as sitting, creeping and walking so that the child may better access
their environment. For other children it can mean improving range of
motion and/or strength to return to a previous level of functioning,
after an injury or surgery.
We also offer evaluations and fittings for
foot orthotics. We have experience fabricating orthoses for a variety
of concerns, including flat feet, ligamentous laxity, and sports
injuries, as well as a variety of developmental diagnoses not limited
to CP, spina bifida, sensory integration dysfunction, Down Syndrome
and Developmental Delay. We also provide this service for adults with
knee and back pain related to poor foot position.
